Daylesford Macedon Produce

Daylesford Macedon Produce (DMP) was established in 2002 to nurture, develop and market the growers, winemakers and food producers of the Daylesford Macedon Region.

Castlemaine in the North, Bacchus Marsh in the South, Kilmore in the East and Creswick in the West delineate the area covered by DMP. Within this region, a variety of topography, soils and mesoclimates support a diverse and exciting range of operations.

Food produced by the DMP group includes organic pork, vegetables, goat meat, fruit and herbs, berries, trout, lamb, olive products, cheese, smallgoods, biodynamic breads, chutneys and preserves. Gourmands of the sweet-toothed persuasion can choose from superb chocolates, biscuits, cakes, ice cream, fudge, honey and jams.

The viticulture industry of the region, although in its fledgling stages, has already begun to make a name for itself with boutique wineries producing Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling. For beer connoisseurs, Holgate Brewhouse offers award-winning premium ales at its boutique brewery in Woodend.

To this impressive list, add an array of passionate producers, award-winning winemakers and chefs, dedicated provedores and educators, and you have a thrilling recipe for a dynamic and evolving regional cuisine.
